Le Paloumé is a typical Catalan farmhouse built from local stone with parts dating from the 6th. Century. Situated 725 metres above sea level we enjoys blue skies and sunshine for an average of 310 days a year. The grounds consists of 120 organic acres a quarter of which is mainly wild flower & hay meadows for our flock of sheep, the rest is mixed deciduous woodland sheltering wild boar & main other animals. It provides richly diverse habitats for birds, butterflies, rare flowers and wild mushrooms

Our village of St. Laurent de Cerdans is in the Vallespir, the most southerly and unspoilt part of France. It is a peaceful area bounded by Spain, the Mediterranean and the Canigou mountain range. It is an attractive historic village in a gorgeous setting with most amenities.

Le Paloumé have a unique position situated in a high valley, La Valleé Verte, which runs north south and leading directly into Spain. It is completely sheltered from the Tranmontaqne which often blows on the French plain/coast and provides a quick, traffic free route to the sandy beaches of Span before the Cost Brava proper. We are equidistant from both the French & Spanish Mediterranean coasts, as well as Perpignan and Figueres.
